The surrounding hills and mountains offer many leisure opportunities and host the world famous “Race the Train” hill race.

There are a number of static caravans on site, which are privately owned and not for hire, as well as facilities for touring caravans and tents of all sizes.

Dolgoch Holidays offer two four star rated self-catering cottages, situated just minutes walk from the Dolgoch Falls railway station and the spectacular lower falls. The cottages sleep four and six people respectively, and are a perfect base for exploring the railway, for woodland and waterfall walks, and for the beach (just a 15 minute drive from the cottages).

A family run bed and breakfast set beneath the Dolgoch ravine in a quiet location but close to many of Snowdonia’s attractions. The location means that this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Located at the south western corner of the Snowdonia National Park just 5 miles from the beautiful West Wales coastline. Dolgoch is close to Tywyn, Aberdyfi and Abergynolwyn, with many walks available from its doorstep including the Dolgoch Waterfalls. Cadair Idris, one of Snowdonia’s most spectacular mountains is also a few minutes away.

Llwyndu Holiday Park set on the secluded Llwyn Du estate. The site was the original Quaker meeting house/farm dating from 17th century. It is nestled in a tranquil location at the foot of a scenic woodland with stunning seaviews in the pretty village of Llwyngwril in Snowdonia National Park. The pods are modern with own shower/toilet and contemporary decor throughout. Hill walks straight from the door, pub shop and beach a short walk, the train station is close by.
(Abergynolwyn – 3.3 miles)
Is a 16th Century Lakeside Coaching Inn with one of the most iconic views in Wales. We are located very close to Cader Idris, the highest mountain peak in southern Snowdonia National Park, Gwynedd. It is also spelt “Cadair Idris”, meaning “Chair of Idris”, and it is very popular with walkers and plane spotters. As well as the stunning views, you can enjoy home-cooked food and Real Ale straight from the cask. In summer our lakeside Beer Garden is a day out in itself! Alternatively, you might just prefer sitting by our log fires in the Fireside Bar and Restaurant, while the wild weather of Snowdonia rushes over us from the Irish Sea.
(Abergynolwyn – 3.4 miles)
With a magnificent location, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty and dramatic scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, the Tynycornel Hotel looks out over its own 222-acre fishing lake. With the majestic mountains of Cader Idris reflected in its waters, Tal-y-Llyn Lake is more than a scenic asset; the hotel owns the lake, which is noted for its superb fishing.
