Online Ticket Sales / Shop Sales
Any information given to us by you will not be used in any way other than to process your order. Card details are not retained and we will never pass your personal information on to any third party.
Payment Card Security
Payment Card details provided to our payment provider via this website are transmitted, stored and retrieved securely. Our shopping cart system uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection to ensure that your personal data is secure during transmission between your computer and our payment provider.
Membership payment
Your membership card payments provided to our payment provider via our online membership site are transmitted, stored and retrieved securely. Card details are not retained after successful processing. Where you have requested a Direct Debit for annual renewals, your bank details are held securely by our Direct Debit provider. We do not pass your card or bank details to other parties outside of the relevant payment provider.
Webcams and photographs
When visiting our site, we have publicly viewable webcams at Wharf station, Pendre and Abergynolwyn. These do not store images however they are visible on the website in real time. We have CCTV on site which is stored for a reduced time and only downloaded should an incident take place. The access to this CCTV is limited to staff members. There may also be a chance that photographs may be taken if you are volunteering, We will always gain your consent for the official use of these photographs. If you have any concerns about this please speak to a member of staff.

Facebook is used for the website’s chat function. By opening the chat function displayed in the bottom right of the website you are consenting to Facebook placing additional third-party tracking cookies on your computer as well as transmitting your communications and personally identifiable information to the railway if you are logged into your Facebook account.
Constant Contact is used to send email communications relating to our events and fundraising activities and relevant announcement to those members who have provided their email addresses. They hold your name and email address.
These services may store information about your computer outside of the UK in the United States. The United States is deemed as a “third country” under GDPR, as it is not governed by GDPR. Data transfer to a third country may only take place where it is deemed to have adequate data protections in place.
Each third-party partner holds data either in line with GDPR provisions or under the provisions of the former Privacy Shield agreement pending a new data-sharing agreement.
