We are delighted that were have been able to gain support from the The National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Heritage Emergency Fund which supported our costs involved in reopening the Railway to visitors.
The grant of £45,700 helped us cover staff costs associated with re-opening, screening for the carriages and cafes, ongoing PPE requirements and facilities to enable outdoor dining.
Stuart Williams, General Manager, commented, “The grant from the Heritage Fund was very welcome, and allowed us to make investments in equipment, especially screens in the carriages and cafes which have proved to be a fantastic addition and have allowed us to trade during the summer. We were also able to bring existing staff back off furlough and supplement our staff with some short term casual employment during the summer”
